Happy Birthday to Us!

So this is my first blog for our new website and it’s quite a daunting one to start with. How do I sum up the last six years in a few paragraphs and try to make it funny too? With difficulty, if I’m honest.

There are definitely several stories that simply can’t be detailed on any social media site: tales of ill-fated registration meetings, never-ending DBS checks and references that made us want to cry.

Over the last six years we’re recruited an excellent database of candidates and managed to wheedle out the not-so-excellent ones. Needless to say, we’re very proud of the database we have at Educationline and have built a superb reputation with our clients by providing them with excellent staff. Our team of consultants are all ex-teachers so they can spot an outstanding candidate very quickly.

Our Compliance Team are so efficient it’s frightening. They make sure files are cleared as quickly as possible so we can get our outstanding candidates out working immediately. It’s a real team effort and the system works amazing well

Six years ago I set the company up with a desk, a phone and a computer, as well as an endless supply of coffee and a penchant for working 16 hour days. In order to get the business off the ground. weekends were taken up registering candidates, formatting CVs and searching TES from top to bottom for business opportunities.

Every year the business has grown and so has the team. I had a clear idea that I only wanted to recruit ex-teachers as consultants because I didn’t want a pushy sales team promoting the company. I love the fact all our consultants know exactly what it’s like to be in a classroom and can relate to the demands and pressures of the teaching profession. I think this gives our agency a huge amount of credibility and helps us recruit the right candidates.

As I thought, cramming six years into a few paragraphs is impossible. So much has happened in that time but I can definitely say that setting up Educationline was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I work with a bunch of enthusiastic, knowledgeable, funny and driven people every day and I’m truly looking forward to what the future holds for us.
